1 〔魚を〕 fish; angle (for fish); fish with a rod and line; catch; hook; (釣り上げる) land; 〔トンボを〕 catch a dragonfly.

●川[磯, 湖]で魚を釣る fish (in) a stream [in the surf, in a lake]

・川でマスを釣る fish for trout in a stream; fish a stream for trout.
